Sage Productions Presents....
A Special Occasion Slam in celebration of BeSage's (Brianna Sage) birthday!
A Message For the Audience:
Brianna Sage Speaking here… I’ve been doing the Northbay Poetry Slam for two years running. I started when I was 17 years old and on November 20th I will be turning 19. In the last two years the Northbay Poetry Slam, and Poetry slams in general, have become a huge part of my life. Due to a spontaneous date change the slam was moved to the 18th of November, a date I had originally wanted to throw a birthday party on. I took this as a sign. So in honor of my career, my birthday, and the Northbay Slam I am throwing what I hope to be the most memorable birthday yet to come. I myself will be the featured artist for the night. Meaning that beyond just celebrating with all my family and friends (and friends to come!) I will be performing 25 minutes of original spoken word and hip-hop. I hope that everyone, whether you know me or not, will be able to make it out to this event to celebrate, and that you invite all your friends so we can have a huge party.
Fancy wear is encouraged! If you come dressed spiffy you get $1 off the ticket price. Looking forward to celebrating with you all!

This Month's Feature.... BeSage
Born and raised in the town of Sebastopol, CA, BeSage started her musical career at the young age of seven. Entertaining the local children by making up songs and rhymes. However, her big dreams of becoming a famous singer were squashed after being informed on multiply occasions that she sounded tone deaf. Despite the discouragement, BeSage wasn't prepared to let go of her dreams that easily. Fighting back against the average stereotype of "what a singer should sound like" BeSage creates her own style and provides a unique stage presence that is all her own.
BeSage has taken first and second place in multiply slams such as the Sonoma County Library Slam, iHop Slam, Tourettes Without Regrets, and the Northbay Poetry Slam—an event she founded at the age of 17 and has run for the last two years. She has shared stages with well-known artists such as Radio Active (Active 808), Hunter Blackwell (Sonic Bloom), Megan McElroy, Eyezon Soweto, Thrive, Pamela Parker, Goddess Alchemy Project, and Michael Franti. As well as having performed at events such as the Goddess Crafts Faire, Harmony Festival, and San Francisco’s How Weirs Street Fair.
With strong roots and an established name in her community BeSage has spent the last 10 years of her young life constructing works of art ranging from love sonnets, to gay rights poems, to politically empowered spoken word, to playful and abstract rap. And now she comes to the HopMonk Tavern and the Northbay Poetry Slam to celebrate her career and her birthday… so you best be there.
