The Juke JOint presents: Shotguns n' Shenanigans
The official 2012 SCOTTY BY NATURE story...

Sebastopol is a town filled with secret stories, daring myths and untold legends. Past the Analy high school football fields... under the Ragel Ranch oak trees... atop the misty Armstrong redwoods, one might be lucky enough to see him.

Most likely perched on a branch in a cloud of smoke grooming (what some say has special powers) a beard that would rival that of a capt. Morgan.

He is known to some as the most interesting mortal man on earth and his BIRTH RIGHT has been celebrated by the ancient pagan gods since his conception 4000 years ago.

Let us join together and tilt pints of ale to the BIRTHDAY of no other.

SHOTGUN WEDDING QUINTET (live)

San Francisco has a storied background of organized crime. From the Mob ridden speakeasies of the prohibition era to the Nortenos y Suerenos that currently tug at the seams of the Mission District, the Bay Area underground has been home to every imaginable form of nefarious business over the course of the past century. It’s appropriate, then, that the ten year old Jazz Mafia collective formed as a product of the same environment.

An elite team of instrumental outlaws, The Jazz Mafia has taken many shapes since its inception, the most notable of which is certainly The Shotgun Wedding Quintet. Fresh off their nationwide tour with hip-hop stalwarts Zion I & The Grouch, and having backed many other music rebels in the studio and on the stage: Beck, Digital Underground, Lyrics Born, Carlos Santana, Mixmaster Mike, and Q-Bert, The Shotgun Wedding Quintet have recorded twelve new tales of San Francisco's underworld. “Tales From The Barbary Coast”, the group's sophomore album, is a Bay Area themed record with red-light district saloon-seedy stories in sync with the vibe of the California Gold Rush days where San Francisco's Barbary Coast got its name, but executed with all the edge of right now. “Each song has it's own character,” says Dublin, the group's MC. “We commit to each song by dropping the instruments we played on the previous track, and picking up a whole different set of instruments for the next number to give it the right feel. What sounded like a brass band on the last song suddenly sounds like an electro slap project. There's always that Shotgun flavor to it but our focus is total commitment to the song, so it has a life of it's own that will last.”

guest vocalist
ROSE LOGUE

Rose Logue sings with a soul and depth that invites audiences into her magical world of love, mermaids, pain and heartache. Rose's voice has been described as sounding like honey mixed with thorns, gritty around the edges but soft and delicate within the melodies. She has a fantastic range that goes from ethereal highs to lost everything lows.

Rose has sung the National Anthem at three NBA games in California. Her love for the stage not only keeps her consistently performing in California, but has taken her across the USA and to Europe. In March of 2008, she performed in Detroit for the 5th annual “Just Let Me Breathe” benefit concert to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, opening up for Sponge. Following several shows in the summer of 2007 in Paris, France, Rose returned to perform for two weeks with her five piece band in the spring of 2008. While in Paris she was interviewed and performed on the French TV show “Le Couloir de la Night”.

She’s been featured in BUST Magazine and The Bohemian/Northbay Metro Magazine. Rose’s vocals can also be heard on the musical score for Beyond Pictures’ independent film “Bye, Bye Navina”.
At a young age Rose began writing songs and singing with her musician father and performing alongside her belly-dancing mother. She was raised in Northern California in an eccentric, artistic community which allowed her to focus on creativity. The alternative school she attended encouraged children to sing, dance and learn through art. This philosophy shaped the rest of Rose’s life and continues to run through her veins.

As a young woman, Rose grew tired of singing in cover bands but serendipitously met Chris Vibberts in just such a band. The relationship quickly evolved into a deep friendship and the two began creating music together. Rose's first EP, 'Fly' is the culmination of Rose’s soulful melodies and lyrics with Chris’ unique production, intuitive arrangements and outstanding musicianship.
We hope we can knock your socks off with this latest live album as well!
